Carry on Tuesday #58 ~ This week our prompt is the first words spoken in the 1959 Billy Wilder movie Some Like it Hot:
Well, nobody’s perfect

Writer's Island 2010 Prompt #8 ~ Change

One Single Impression #121 ~ Dawn
+
Sunday Scribblings #220 ~ Birth
~
When dawn becomes a whimper from yesterdays
And
Shabby conquests beg for change
Sometimes
A reckless dip in a Lethean sauna
Leeches the Gothic toxics
And inspires
A birth of
Nonchalent bravado
Within
A release
A silent scream...
Well, nobody's perfect
~

AUSTRALIA ~ The Antipodes
I love a sunburnt country / A land of sweeping plains / Of ragged mountain ranges / Of droughts and flooding rains / I love her far horizons / I love her jewel-sea / Her beauty and her terror / The wide brown land for me / ~ Dorothea Mackellar (1885-1968)

One post fits all prompts - well done!
Hi Gem, you're so lucky to be able to capture such glorious dawning.
(Re: Weekend Nature - still working on it. I am trying to multitask all weekend memes in one).
Thanks for the patience.
Love your morning photo.
Really like that opening line and Love the fact that you put all the prompts together in one piece.
Fantastic!
Elizabeth
Nicely written! One post fits all :P! Thanks for sharing!

WOW! You connected so many dots! I am impressed!!!
I especially love the line:
"Birth of a nonchalant bravado." BRAVO! BRAVO!
Read my Sunday Scribbling here.
Very emotional, but I loved the throwaway line at the end!
Nicely done for all the prompts!
Pamela
Loved the "silent scream"! And the photo of dawn emerging.
Best regards.
awe-inspiring!
wow....perfectly done, what with combining several prompts in one awesome poem Gemma, and the pic is just as equally mesmerizing picture of dawn, of birth...!
Bravo! This is definitely inspiring! Very well done, my friend.
Namaste Gemma :) this was really a beautiful take on the prompt..
Dawn as a whimper of yesterdays.. a very nice metaphor i think..
Within a release, a silent scream....Seems there is always a trade.
Thanks for sharing with OSI.
nicely said..
Yes. This setting sun is "perfect"...
Greetings.

Beautiful, I love the allusions,
particularly: Leeches the Gothic toxics, for the sounds it makes.
Should it be leaches? ie to allow a liquid to percolate, or have I misunderstood (not unusual!)
PlEASE NOTE!
The word "leeches" is correct! e.g.verb (used with object)
4. to apply leeches to, so as to bleed.
5. to cling to and feed upon or drain, as a leech: His relatives leeched him until his entire fortune was exhausted.
~ Dictionary.com
I wanted the "blood sucking" idea, not the percolating (less strongly dramatic + far too soft!) idea!
But thank you for the thought vivinfrance!
Well, nobody's perfect - :) But this comes close!
the lightness of heart is enchanting... blue sky
It's a good write..quite spontaneous..yeh..
ahhh beautiful
