AUSTRALIA ~ The Antipodes

AUSTRALIA ~ The Antipodes
I love a sunburnt country / A land of sweeping plains / Of ragged mountain ranges / Of droughts and flooding rains / I love her far horizons / I love her jewel-sea / Her beauty and her terror / The wide brown land for me / ~ Dorothea Mackellar (1885-1968)

Overt Freedom

Pic by Gemma Wiseman ~ A recent moment of freedom in a Dromana carpark, Mornington Peninsula
~
PhotoHunt #221 ~ Free
One Single Impression #124 ~ Overt
~

Just an ordinary
Wind-blown
Chilled
Winter's day

Just an ordinary
Wait
In the carpark

A flurry of feet
Flying on the bars of
The trolley bay
Up the lamp-post
Perched
Cross-legged

The shoppers glanced and
Kept walking

I gazed and
Kept the camera
Steady

One shot
One blatant
Secret
Shot

One overt, free moment
Dissolving
~

...at least until he hit the ground.... Hopefully, it wasn't as high up as it looks.

Mine is somewhat different....

I wonder what prompted that urge to go climbing up that lamp pole! Sheer free spiritedness? :D

"One overt, free moment
Dissolving"

Moments which are free- overt are not many.

Wonderful take on the prompt.

What it is to be a photographer--blatant AND secret.

Lovely to know that you had a camera and a truly gifted and thinking mind to give us such an overt expression of freedom.. Very well written..
