Friday Flash 55
~
The weathered cane chair on the verandah was aging well – peeling and paling. If only his memories could peel and pale. How could someone leave his own wheel chair bound father in a house threatened by rampant bushfire? The moment was too easy. He needed his inheritance urgently. And children had to survive, didn’t they?

I like the last lines, trying to justify what he'd done for the sake of the children. It helps to balance what would otherwise been a one-sided incident. Nice work!
Sick and twisted. Just the way I like them. My 55 is HERE .
Geez, I'm thinking that he is the child needing to survive. Oh well, Dad was old anyway.
