Pic by Gemma Wiseman ~ Autumn leaves in my garden

Friday Flash 55
~
It was a long time ago. It was late Autumn.
Winter winds blasted last colours from trees.
I remember a little girl in a pretty floral dress, happily dancing barefooted in the leaves, tossing them high.
Nearby was a removal truck.
That was a long time ago!
But I still can dance in Autumn leaves.

smiles. any reason or season is a good season to dance...but the leaves make it extra special...wonderful 55!
my 55 is up!
The leaves are delightful... a reminder that summer is all too brief, and Alaska's autumn lurks just weeks from now.
Still, reasons to dance live in the brightly colored foliage.

THere is a beauty in falling leaves.
Beautiful tribute to autumn, just loved 'Winter winds blasted last colours from trees.' And though it's winter now, this week I finally found time to rake up leaves from the backyard and put in the garden waste bin.
My 55 is here
Oh, cabaret dancer, I know a dancer,
Whose eyes have not looked on the feasts that are vain.
I know a dancer, I know a dancer,
Whose soul has no bond with the beasts of the plain:
Judith the dancer, Judith the dancer,
With foot like the snow, and with step like the rain
from How a Little Girl Danced by Vachel Lindsay

Love the sound of leaves crunching beneath my feet. Great Aurumn 55. My 55 is HERE .
Gemma -- I like your new header with the collage of some of your best photos -- and your wonderful lines about winter.
I've often wondered if people who never experience a winter season have a different, less reflective attitude about life. (We haven't had much of it in the last few years as we travel away from it, but we experienced our share for years). People who live their whole lives in Southern California or Florida never even would really know what it is like.
I'll join you in the leaves, but first I'm putting on my shoes. Those leave can be prickly.
My summer corn is just starting to tassle and the tomatoes are going from green to yellow. It's hard to imagine it's not summer everywhere :)
Lovely picture, the light on those leaves is perfect, as is your 55. It's been too long since I looked at autumns leaves and thought of dancing.
