AUSTRALIA ~ The Antipodes
I love a sunburnt country / A land of sweeping plains / Of ragged mountain ranges / Of droughts and flooding rains / I love her far horizons / I love her jewel-sea / Her beauty and her terror / The wide brown land for me / ~ Dorothea Mackellar (1885-1968)

Pale Beauty

Pic by Gemma Wiseman ~ Reflections of winter clouds at Blairgowrie beach, Mornington Peninsula
Not till I looked at the photo did I realise that I mistakenly lined up the sand line and ignored the horizon.
O well, still loved the watery cloudscape!

A very powerful and beautiful photo and haiku. It is stunning and very inspirational both in words and picture. You should think about writing a book :)

A really powerful reflection and it does catch the wintry feel. And, of course, your haiku is always superb! Have a lovely weekend, Gemma! Give Shadow a chin scratch for Sam and Mojo and me!

Did you say you made a mistake on that photo? I'd be happy with your mistakes...that picture is beautiful.

Words and picture in unison. Mine, too, reflects the gentle colours of our winter.

"mistakenly lined up the sand line and ignored the horizon"

With the sky, water and sand blending almost seamlessly into each other, I can understand why. I like the steel colors in your photo, and you captured its essence very well with your haiku. Lovely.
