Looks like a nice congregation!
Oystercatchers! I love thier carrot bills.
I love to watch foraging shorebirds. I wish I was near the sea right now! And the poem is beautiful - I've never been able to write poetry.
I learned in your comment section that the bird I wanted to know is an oystercatcher. What an interesting bill they have. I love to watch shore birds, but I am awful at identifying them. I get to see different kind of birds along the river and lakes here....Thank you for being a loyal member of Nature Notes Gemma... Michelle
I know what Michelle means - they're all seagulls to me!:-) You know, I rarely see them foraging at the shore like this - they seem to always be airborne or diving for a catch. Neat shot.
Wading in the sea on a summer day, with snacks close by. Those birds know how to live.
Love this shot!
