AUSTRALIA ~ The Antipodes
I love a sunburnt country / A land of sweeping plains / Of ragged mountain ranges / Of droughts and flooding rains / I love her far horizons / I love her jewel-sea / Her beauty and her terror / The wide brown land for me / ~ Dorothea Mackellar (1885-1968)

Piebald Pigeon at the Car Wash

Pic by Gemma Wiseman ~ My car desperately needed a wash before I returned to school after school holidays.
(We can only use public car washes ~ often attached to petrol stations ~ in Australia.
This conserves water!)
Sitting in the car at Mornington, with windows up and being sudsed, is not really my favourite past-time.
But I took my camera along.
I am so glad I did.
On the way to the brushes, there near the grassy verge was a piebald pigeon.
I have never seen one before.
Patiently, the pigeon let me lower the car window and slightly lean out to get this photo!
And then I faced the brushes with a smile!

You attract birds wherever you go. Have you ever been able to catch a wild bird before? They seem drawn to you. This one is no exception. She's beautiful. Nature's Yin and Yang, indeed. Have a great weekend.
