AUSTRALIA ~ The Antipodes

AUSTRALIA ~ The Antipodes
I love a sunburnt country / A land of sweeping plains / Of ragged mountain ranges / Of droughts and flooding rains / I love her far horizons / I love her jewel-sea / Her beauty and her terror / The wide brown land for me / ~ Dorothea Mackellar (1885-1968)

The Artistry of Moonlight ~ for Sunday Scribblings ~ Out of this World Prompt

Moon
Lonely barrel
Of ethereal light
Buoyed
In a sparkling sea
Of velvet
~
Steady beam
Spasmodically sponged
With careless cloud
~
Moon
Fragile light
Energy's reflection

Mirrored universe
Undulating
Shaped light
~
Mothered
Seasonal whim
Fathered
Wreckless Time
~
Moon
Treasured focus
Lover's dream
Lover's sigh
No real love
~
Moon
Cursed
Conquered
~
Freedom
Intangible bond
Natural circumstance
~
Allocated
Essence of the Earth
In Earthly ways
~
Light
Beholden to
Light

It's unusual to find something different written about the moon but you did it!

This colors and reflections of this picture is mesmerizing. I can't take my eyes away! It's beauty indeed great to behold. I like the poem too....goes well with the prompt! I enjoyed visiting you and will be back again.

That's really nice!
We certainly attribute a lot of meanings to the Moon, it is out of our World but such a significant part of it, all the same.
I liked the "Cursed, conquered" part :)

beautiful imagery. I love buoyed by a sea of velvet. I can almost feel it.
