Yesterday - Ah! The mercury crept to 41 degrees by 4pm. I know, the midday sun in Melbourne is not equal to the crest of heat. We often get the real dose from mid afternoon till 4pm. But that's Melbourne for you! Doesn't like to follow the crowds! Has to be different, and that's why I am slowly growing to love her. Different is cool! But Tasmania will always remain my anam cara.
And I survived! I just immersed myself in waves of writing. It was an article for HubPages called Australia - A glimpse, a taste, a little music with the wine and the first memory. Yes! I know! A long title! But I like to be different! The article was mainly written as a peace offering - with the current tensions between Australian and Indian cricket fans. I wanted to put Australia in a softer and smiling light. It is not heavy, just cameo glimpses of Australia's "wardrobe" - her clothes, a little lingerie, her jewellery and even her shoes. So far, I am getting interest from different countries! That's good! But I want more! I want more shared joy of the spirit! The cricket fires will pass, but the spiritual fires linger! So it is the latter I am working on!
Hmm - and talking of spirit, the whole point of this post was to share some summer quotes! I was amazed just how few there are that really tune into the soul of summer. There are plenty on spring, winter and autumn, but not summer! So strange! Perhaps there's a poem waiting to be written - maybe my next project!
