AUSTRALIA ~ The Antipodes

AUSTRALIA ~ The Antipodes
I love a sunburnt country / A land of sweeping plains / Of ragged mountain ranges / Of droughts and flooding rains / I love her far horizons / I love her jewel-sea / Her beauty and her terror / The wide brown land for me / ~ Dorothea Mackellar (1885-1968)

Ripples and Piers

I was thinking today, just where I wish this blog to travel. Is it to be just all things Australian, or should there be more? A whole lot more!

Wandering through YouTube - becoming a habit with me when I seek unique visuals and music for all kinds of my writing - I found this video by chance.

And there lay the answer! The one I knew already! The one I use as a reason for still teaching after 20 years. I wish to make a difference, a positive difference to the world around me.

I am not a great leader, though I lead a little as a teacher. I am not a great singer, though I used to sing a great deal; now a little less, though musics and rhythms constantly swirl in my mind and soul. In fact, I am not a great anything.

But I love to write the secret voices of the soul; I love to create a sense of soul music round my words, in the hope that someone may hear the magic of spiritual music, and feel good.

So my theme will be soul music - invisible but tangible. My words will always carry an element to feed the hungry spirit with maybe a cool dish of laughter for dessert.

A little of my Australian landscape will always be there. It is a part of who I am. But not so much others cannot tune in and maybe sing with me.

I would like to think I become a writer, at least great enough to be heard; at least great enough to awaken the beautiful spirit within someone/anyone who wants to be heard.

And that beautiful spirit sleeps within us all - waiting to be noticed.
P.S. I chose this picture because there is something mystical about night lights on water. The pier adds a sense of travelling into the mystical. It's an invitation to try!
