Shadow of a tree in summer sunlight at Mornington cemetery.
The old branches may have faded away or may have broken, but the sun casts clear shadows of life moving on.
The tree of life...
Perhaps broken life
But that lives in yesterday
Tomorrows live on

trees are beautiful...and so are the shadows that they cast. Happy New Year Gemma!!
We think of trees so often in the context of a forest - a leafy thicket where all feel the same. The lone tree leaves its rich shadow, though - its style and singular personality stand out without neighbors. Nice!
a beautiful shot. :)
I do love trees and what a beautiful shadow shot for the day, Gemma! Thanks again for co-hosting SSS! Have a very Happy New Year!

Gen_8:22 While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.
I am so grateful for the cycles of our lives. I am in winter and you are in summer, but we both know that another season is coming.
May your New Year be blessed.
So lovely, thoughtful and appropriate!
Have a happy, healthy and prosperous new year!
Amazing find, that must be a really tall tree :)
Happy New Year!
What a perfect shadow! Maybe not as full of foliage as its counterparts, but beautiful nonetheless!
Looks like a painting Gemma. Hapy new year!
Trees so speak to me! They are alive with stories! Thank you and Happy New Year!!!

Thank you, thank you, thank you. (You know what for!) I also like that the shadow points to an evergreen tree. Tree of life indeed. Happy New Year.
Beautiful shadow shot, and poem, too!
Happy New Year!

What a beautiful photo, Gemma. Where would we be without trees?

What a lovely summer scene...
G'day!! I really like the cropped image of the tree with the full shadow cast on the grounds of the cemetery.
Happy New Year...and as always, thanks for visiting.
I'm enjoying your wintertime green shadow. It's cold here.
This appeals to my inner Druid.
Cheers!
