AUSTRALIA ~ The Antipodes

AUSTRALIA ~ The Antipodes
I love a sunburnt country / A land of sweeping plains / Of ragged mountain ranges / Of droughts and flooding rains / I love her far horizons / I love her jewel-sea / Her beauty and her terror / The wide brown land for me / ~ Dorothea Mackellar (1885-1968)

Pitfalls of Luxury?

I took this photo recently of a development on the Nepean Highway, facing the Dromana coast of Port Phillip Bay.

On 17th December 2010, I took this photo.
Quite another real estate.

On 13th March 2010, the sign looked like this! It seems to have a developer promoting the resort!
2 years - and still there are just signs!
Has the project crumbled?
One can only hope!

HERE is my first poetry post - January 17th, 2010 - linking to the media announcement of this resort!
...Pretty shell without the pretty pearl?

Developers' greed
Overturning loved lifestyles
They don't always win

Not a promising investment!

130 meter beach front divided by 51 apartments?

I hate it when big money gets all the great views so I'm thinking this may be a good thing!

One of those times when it's hard not to be happy about somebody's loss.

Luxury? Hmmm, looks like rat cages for the rats fo the rat race to me!
Nice ones, Gemma.

Doesn't look very promising. I don't see any 'sold' stickers on the sign, either so hopefully no-one is stuck with no money and no home while waiting.

their investors probably fell through many times over
good I say
enough with the rich, perhaps it's time to not destroy the planet and to build housing for working folks
it's so cool how you kept the timeline

They obviously didn't sell well. Interesting development, or rather lack of it.
