Almost Discarded

Last Thursday 26th January was Australia Day.
And many people flocked to the Dromana foreshore for celebrations.
Here, some are queued for a ride in the surf boat.
I was so intent trying to include all the shadow patterns on the sands, I did not notice that the pier in the background appeared to be rising to the skies!
At first, I was going to discard this photo.
But I liked the shadow patterns.
So here it is.

Shadows on the sands
Gift of early morning light
Gentle summer shapes

The focal point for me is the trio of primary colors. I like how the red, blue, and yellows stand out for me!

I like the patterns too! The lines fall over the sepia sand so well under the bright sun. The nearby people are awaiting a great time and that pier extends toward the horizon. A fun time and a view worth keeping!

I like the illusion! Cropping up to the pier end would
have done it, but the shadows are the point here! A pleasant looking day for celebrating...

Piers should rise to the skies if they want to, don't you think? Why should they remain beach-bound? :)

It looks like it was a beautiful day for a celebration! The sun is shining warm and casting shadows that are probably being missed by the surf boat riders but not the photographer of shadows. :

Isn't it interesting how our opinion of something changes when we take a "second" look. Great shot--glad you didn't discard it. Mickie ;)

Beautiful shot of the beach.

Beautiful photo!! The clouds, the water, the brightly colored tent, and the shadow of the little trailer in the sand. The shadow looks like an "H" in the sand.

A sunny day is a beautiful day and walking barefoot on the beach is very nice. Greetings.

All the old rules about straight horizons seem to have been thrown out the window now anyway, Gemma. What matters in a shadow-shot is its shadow quality, anyway. Good work!

It's cold, frosty and icy here, so your sun and sand is a wonderful antidote!!
