Such lovely shadows and looks like a great place to walk! And, of course, lovely words to match! Hope you've enjoyed a great weekend, Gemma!

I love shadowy walks. This one is beckoning me, from the other side of the world.

Simply magical, what a beautiful stairway and the ferns are wonderful, it looks like quite a nice day, things must be warming up. Soon the beaches will be filled with sun loving bathers...and all of us poor slobs up here in the Northern parts will be whining our brains out wishing for Spring...it's the same ol' song, year after year...and why do we stay, cause when it's nice, it's really nice and it's home sweet home with family and friends...but believe me, next year, if I can swing it, I'm gonna be in Florida January and February. It'll take a bit of finagling, but I'm hopeful...well, I'm dreamin' anyway, out loud!

Things have really calmed down in the hen yard since the mean bird is gone, my little flock follows me all over the yard and sit outside my shop when I'm working, they've become quite fun to have around...sure doesn't take much for some does it...LOL...!

Hope things are healing up and you're getting along in class...soon summer will be back and the healing will really be in full swing, just in time!

Have a great week ahead dear friend, thinkin' of ya always!

Bunches of hugs!

That stark shadowy line seems to be leading me straight into the heart of the woods.

BITS OF SHADOW

Bits of shadow and blasts of light,
Morning and evening, noon and night;

Days of darkness, gloomy and drear;
Sometimes bright ones, bringing good cheer;

Spring or winter, summer or fall,
Light or shadow—embrace them all!

The woods can be dark, and we may lose our way. Yet with the sun peering down, the steps will not now be tripped over. And the shadow of the railing leave no choice as to where to step and which direction to follow as the line is so well defined. A fine day off the beaten path!

This looks like a yearning for summer light where now a shadow is cast like a spell which will soon be lifted!!
Conversely harsh sun has destroyed some of the lush green and there is hope of its revival in the shady nooks.
Perplexed state of the world!!

The thoughts in this one flow together so well - you capture the moment like all good haiku should.

Great haiku to go with a tremendous picture.
I loved your last line - 'hope in the darkness'

I laughed when I read the caption that it was Arthurs Seat - so different to the original Arthurs Sear in Edinburgh (Scotland)

ps - an excellent shadow shot!

Instead of the Yellow Brick Road, just follow the shadow!

The shadow beckons us up the trail into the cool woods..

"Hope in the darkness" is a great line.

I actually don't care for wide steps like that..they hurt my knees sometimes. I must be getting old.
