One Single Impression #73 ~ Inner Voice
~
The inner spirit has many colours
And many seasons
Like a microcosm of
Nature herself
~
Sometimes
Seeds lie dormant
Till the right suns and
The right rains
Descend
~
Sometimes
A flower wakes
For a little while
In secret beauty
Till unfeeling
Ignorant
Weather patterns
Crush and
Rend
~
The inner spirit has many personas
And many voices
Translucent and muted
~
Sometimes
The landscape of inner silence is
Broken with
A still
Small
Inner voice
~
A wimper
Maybe
A scream
~
Sometimes
Valiant survival is
The key to
Smiling
~
Sometimes
A melting sunset means
The dawn of
A phoenix
~

Your poem is great. That picture is stunning. Hope all is well.
I love Batehaven, we have lunch at the bakery every time we go there.
your poem is so true.. i can only hope there is phoenix in my ashes...
That voice has considerable power and can have an amazing effect. Thanks, Gemma.
I am reading the most beautiful responses to this prompt today...this was so lovely. It dripped with visuals and pulled me in to its center.
I love the persistence of the small inner voice, the waif that refused to be subdued.
Lovely look at the world within ... we are changing weather patterns - we are sunsets - we are rainclouds.
Gorgeous photograph.
Peace,
JP/deb
a worthy sound of words reflective of a rolling wave coming to shore...
That last line is a knockout.
Gemma, don't we all have such a tough time? Your poem so aptly tells of life's ups and downs. I am glad you didn't end it with a down.
I almost feel guilty reading this one:
"Sometimes
A flower wakes
For a little while
In secret beauty
Till unfeeling
Ignorant
Weather patterns
Crush and
Rend"
The 'weather' can be sooooooo cruel! :-)
..
Powerfully expressed. I like the way you have likened the inner voice to microcosm of nature.
beautiful words and meaning...
I enjoyed listening to the inner voice in your poem.
inner voices are evident through the silent nuances of this poem. what an evocative way of saying "sometimes". two thumbs up!
I love the many moods of this piece and its true telling of a soul’s search. The voice within the inner ear. Soft petals surprised by hail, raise their heads at sunrise.
The voice in this poem moves from silence to shouting and back again. Nicely written.
Beautiful words and such a delightful picture.. The lines reveal the myriad shades of the inner self.. nicely done!
