AUSTRALIA ~ The Antipodes
I love a sunburnt country / A land of sweeping plains / Of ragged mountain ranges / Of droughts and flooding rains / I love her far horizons / I love her jewel-sea / Her beauty and her terror / The wide brown land for me / ~ Dorothea Mackellar (1885-1968)

Paradox of Shadows

Pic by Gemma Wiseman ~ A plastic-like ridged panel on one part of my verandah holds the light and shadows in rather strange ways.
The glare is reduced, but filmy shapes emerge, especially in early morning and evening light.
Here, there is the shadow of a cane backed chair.
The other shadow is my dear hubby.
But his shadow allows the greens of the garden to take on his shadow shape.

Shadow Shot Sunday #53

Shadows are fragments
Often fragments of darkness
Sometimes hints of light

I think he's probably secretly hiding in a lot of your shots, you have to quick to catch him though...

My favorite light is first light and of course in the lazy, late afternoon...those are my dream-times, especially in the summer.

Enjoy your Sunday with your shadow man and your feathered friends...life is good!

A cute capture of your hubby in shadow tree form. Kind of like a shadowy super hero able to transform into whatever takes his fancy. In this case a tree! I imagine him out there saving the world and whacking the bad guys over the head with his branches! Hope you and your hubby are enjoying a lovely Sunday together Gemma. That is of course if your hubby has returned from his 'saving the world' stint... :)

Wow! nicely captured. Had not noticed your hubby's shadow among the green. very nicely done :)

The photo in your 'food circus' post would have made a great SSS shot too.

Have a nice week.

I wish I could be invisible sometimes. Very interesting shadows there, especially the invisible man. I bet he gets away with all sorts of stuff ;)
