Yesterday's Dreams ~ Jack Vettriano
Waiting for
A funeral to unfold is
Hardly the time to feel
Romantic
But then
There are times when
Reason
Rocks
Protocol
Consciously
She gowned a black version of
Her dancing dress
The one she wore when
They shared
One
Split
Shaft of
Eye
Fire
Across a room
The one she wore
Before
His marriage to
Her friend

What a great interpretation of the image. Tells quite a story. The plot would actually work well as a short story.
Excellent piece!
Oh a stinger at the end...
oh really nice twist at the end...and giving thought to who caused that funeral as well...smiles.
'One split shaft of eye fire'......lots of passion in that!
That is a real WoW poem for me. What a real cracker of a phrase you have written with "One
Split
Shaft of
Eye
Fire"
and a stunning twist in the
tail.
I like that she was 'conscious' of slipping into that black dress ... nice writing.
This poem packs a tremendous punch at the end. Love it when I encounter something totally unexpected in a poem!
Cool.
Especially this:
There are times when
Reason
Rocks
Protocol
and "eye fire."
Nice twist, too.
=)
Sharp - cutting, and spot on
a randy bit of mourning, nice...
A story unfolding...great..and unique....
wonderful~
Ouch! A very fitting tale, so nicely written!
