One Single Impression prompt ~ Transience or Permanence
~
In no time at all
Nature
In a black mood
Can drown
All sign of human permanence
With the leering light
Of a dark smile

In time
Humanity
In desperate mood
Can frame
All sign of nature's transience
With the worried lines of
A wired brow

Gemma,
Thanks for these this week. The dark smile and the wire brow sure do have a long and uncertain history together. Your poetry is marvelous, and your blog is beautiful.
Writing in Faith: Poems
I love the wonderful irony of this pair... and their truth. Right now I'm on facing the aftermath of that "dark smile." As I mourn the corpse of my lightning felled tree.
Your photos and words are absolutely beautiful....soul searching.
Both of these works were wonderful Gemma! Great use of great prompts. Loved the photos too. WEll done. G

this set of lines blows me away... i will have to save this and maybe work them in somewhere... just love it!!!!!
Wow! That poem is wonderful. I'm totally in awe of your writing. Thanks so much for sharing your words!
Your words are so true. The years that I lived on the edge of the continent I was always in awe seeing the work of erasure done by nature on all of man's works.
