Hey Harriet ~ Shadow Shot Sunday #4
N.B. The House in Marrakesh led me to this connection!
~If only I saw you before I knew
And stepped out boldly from my shadow ~
If only I felt that smiles would be few
If only I saw you before I knew
And heard the lyrics askew
And knew the landscape was shallow
If only I saw you before I knew
And stepped out boldly from my shadow

I enjoy visiting your blog. You have a lovely creativity in your art(S). I love this line: And stepped out boldly from my shadow. Wonderful.
I don't know if you enjoy memes, but I've tagged you for a totally optional one at my blog
cheers
so lyrical i didn't even catch the form till after i had read the verse... great job!!!!
Life is full of 'if only's'. This highlights a few of them in a way that says 'understanding', rather than 'regret'
There is a wonderful completeness of thought and feeling here. All is so well encompassed in just a very few words.
I totally understand this poem. I think you were writing abuut me! Love it!
the triolet form suits the regretfulness of your words really well.
I love your photo & the words that accompany it! Your blog is so full of interesting & fun things. I could spend hours here looking at your images, reading your poetry & clicking on all of these wonderful links you have! Beautiful blog! It will be a regular stop for me now. Glad I found you. Yay for The House of Marrakesh! & thanks so much for playing along with SSS! I love discovering fantastic Aussie blogs :) Hope you're keeping warm in chilly Melbourne!
It's funny how people so far apart are thinking of the same things at nearly the same time. Thanks for stopping by and commenting on my fence...yours is cool too. And oddly enough I was taking pictures of trees against the night sky last night as well...I've never done that before. How interesting. Your's are lovely. I don't know if mine will have turned out as I haven't downloaded them yet.
Nice to make your aquaintiance.
