Sometimes
Inner worlds
Are skeletal chips
Of old bones
Defining some illusory form
Of eyes, ears
And maybe even a mouthline
(Poetic spaces are
The haunt
Of bated breath)
Strangely
Such mortuary specimans
Fascinate the intimate ghoul
In all of us

oh don't they tho... i for one crave a little darkness here and there!!!!!
the picture of autumn which you have posted above left me spellbound :)
Ooo- not for me! Great piece though
After darkness, there is always light. Great picture!
Very thoughtful piece - I like the mystical feel and the lovely words.
Darkness can be a good place. Prepares us for light, and gives us good ideas.
That's why in my poem, "My Silent Confidant," I said:
"Goodbye my eventide, the dawn’s now here.
Your clinging shadows are all behind me,
‘Tis time I face the light I use to fear,
And welcome the promises of a new day."
Because darkness could sometimes be a temporary sunctuary, a dwelling place to prepare us to see and welcome the light.
I wish you well.

Great post. Good job.
Love the ending. and "Inner worlds
Are skeletal chips " is a neat image. Good Job!
We all need to experience the dark to appreciate the light. My senses feel sharpened after reading this.
