Monday's Child #40
~
My little room is a magic world
A place to live in dreams
My bed becomes a special boat
Sailing the cloudy seas
Just a sparkling thought whisks me there
Anywhere I long to be
A fantasy land where I am king
Or an island where I'm just me
Sometimes I go on adventures
Braving the jungles wild
Seeking all my animal friends
Loving being a child
And sometimes I visit Peter Pan
He's such a crazy guy
Never Never Land is a wondrous place
To walk and run and fly
But then I must sail quietly home
To sleep away the night
Tuck my dreams in my pocket
And smile at morning light

this is a really good children's poem. you need to submit it to a children's book sometime. have a great day.
wonderful! I love the peter pan stanza - I almost referred to him in my poem. funny to see that I was not the only one who thought of him. Great job, I enjoyed it.
Love the line about tucking your dreams in your pocket. I'm feeling all sleepy now...in the middle of the DAY!!!
Tuck my dreams in my pocket
What a lovely place to keep them!
I agree to "tuck my dreams in my pocket"...a magical line that allows any Peter Pan to fly high and to Neverland....a true delight to read..thank you for sharing...bkm
How nice to tuck your dreams in your pocket! I hardly ever dream so I miss-out!
Tuck my dreams in my pocket..why not? Love this!!
That was perfect -- I can remember many of the illustrations and poems in "child's garden of verses' and had to see what you did with this picture. Loved it.
