AUSTRALIA ~ The Antipodes

AUSTRALIA ~ The Antipodes
I love a sunburnt country / A land of sweeping plains / Of ragged mountain ranges / Of droughts and flooding rains / I love her far horizons / I love her jewel-sea / Her beauty and her terror / The wide brown land for me / ~ Dorothea Mackellar (1885-1968)

Pic by Gemma Wiseman ~ The Tyabb Junior Fire Brigade march in the Western Port Festival parade celebrating Hastings' 150 year history in the Mornington Peninsula.
They are accompanied by an old water pump/hose from about the 1940's.
Carry on Tuesday #93 ~ This week, a line from Shakespeare’s best loved play, Romeo and Juliet:
parting is such sweet sorrow

Progress stills old ways
Parting is such sweet sorrow
Parades remember

Hosted by Keith's Ramblings

Thats a nice one Gemma!! And you took us way way back. Have seen photographs of such water pump/hose used by the fire brigade.

Yes, it's harder parting with things as memories, than it was leaving them at the time.
