AUSTRALIA ~ The Antipodes

AUSTRALIA ~ The Antipodes
I love a sunburnt country / A land of sweeping plains / Of ragged mountain ranges / Of droughts and flooding rains / I love her far horizons / I love her jewel-sea / Her beauty and her terror / The wide brown land for me / ~ Dorothea Mackellar (1885-1968)

Beside the Giant Tea Cup

Pic by Gemma Wiseman ~ In the background, a teapot and tea cup ride for young children at the Australia Day 2011 celebrations by the Dromana pier, Mornington Peninsula.
This was taken very early in the day, so the man and child shared balloons while they waited for the ride to open.

This definitely brings out the inner child in me. Your shot is so sharp and so colorful. It is what a would call a “fun” photo. I really like it.

I guess the teacups are turning round as well as the roundabout! Great RT-photos ;-)

The reds are bright spots in an otherwise dismal day!

A DAMSEL WHO LOVED SHADES OF RED

A damsel who loved shades of red
Discovered she’d been sore misled;
She had no more rose,
Nor blush for her nose—
If she finds the thief, the guy’s dead!
