Pic by Gemma Wiseman ~ Old friends meet again one Autumn morning, Dromana Hills, Mornington Peninsula.
We are quite convinced a little family (5) of kookaburras has followed us when we moved late 2008 from Arthurs Seat mountain top to Dromana Hills (a little further down the mountain).
One kookaburra likes to be hand fed.

How wonderful to have made friends with this kookaburra! :)
Great photos! I just love kookaburra's - when they laugh it's just so infectious that I laugh too :)
Funny you should mention this, as I was sitting on my front porch this morning, the most beautiful, sweet song you have ever heard...a meadow lark. I looked up at the usual perch they sing from every morning and there he was.
I hope this is the same male that comes back every year to sing to me from aloft, at the very peak of the old walnut tree, too far for a picture, but I watch him through my binoculars every morning with my cup of coffee in my rocking chair...ahhh the glory of spring.
Wonderful shot of a well fed companion, they are so cute. See ya at SSS...bunches of hugs back attcha!
