AUSTRALIA ~ The Antipodes
I love a sunburnt country / A land of sweeping plains / Of ragged mountain ranges / Of droughts and flooding rains / I love her far horizons / I love her jewel-sea / Her beauty and her terror / The wide brown land for me / ~ Dorothea Mackellar (1885-1968)

This is a voice I am always happy to hear.
Something so simple, yet joyful. All of our senses delight in water.
Yes, what is this lure to water...to float unaware like a waterbug, just in the moment, swirling arms and kicking legs, we just float in a magic sea of joy. Maybe it's a primal birthing rite...who knows, but just to walk the shore, waves lapping at heals is something I long for...I live too far from the sea and the healing waters...that is a certain.
Hope your weekend was wonderful, watching pony's in the surf...ahhhh, paradise! Maybe I'll haunt the surf of the Mighty Mississippi today, hunting for shadow shots no doubt...big bunny hugs my dearest friend too...

Water is such a great comfort. This was lovely, including the photograph!
Really enjoyed this, nicely captured an essence of water.
I love your poem. I grew up on the other side of the Pacific (California) and always loved autumn at the beach, the movement of the waves made me think of the ocean as a wild living creature.
I could hear the sound. Ao alive!
drumming water
music to my ears...one of my very favorite sounds!
The difference between these images and sounds and 'dead water' is palpable.
Thanks for the words, but I like the photo best!
And a lovely song it is!
looks like it's a bit overcast... a chill in the air and water... beautiful words....
lovely poem and beautiful picture- thanks for sharing!
