Secrets of Queenscliff Pier

Pic by Gemma Wiseman ~ This is an old old pier at Queenscliff, Bellarine Peninsula on Port Phillip Bay.
It leads to two amazing structures.
From a distance, they look quite plain and smallish.
(NOTE: This is NOT the pier for the Queenscliff-Sorrento ferry!)

That's My World Tuesday XLIV
~

Pic by Gemma Wiseman ~ This is the structure at the end of the line of shadows.
Inside looks far bigger than it appeared from the outside.
It seemed to be a giant walk through waiting terminal.
Knowing that this building was not far from The Rip ~ opening from Port Phillip Bay into Bass Strait ~ I wondered if this could have been a major shipping terminal.
I could not look into the other structure on the left.
The way to it was blocked.

Pic by Gemma Wiseman ~ Today, the pier is mainly used for fishing.
