great shot. i'm sure they'll break water soon. we're still waiting on warmer weather, sigh. hope all is well. have a great day.
Ah, these fast boats make lots of noise and create quite a wake. So since the autumn means the boats will be on trailers and not on the sea, peace and quiet will reign on the still waters...
Great shadow shot for the day! Our seasons are making the effort to change, aren't they? Always enjoy the gradual transition -- although I have to admit, I'm really eager for that transition this year! Hope your weekend is going well, Gemma! Enjoy!
Sylvia
Looks very festive! Fun shadows.
But, it doesn't look like Autumn there, it looks like summer, they have short sleeves and flip flops on...we're still in wool and flannel and our furnaces keep kicking on, well, in Iowa anyway...but, it is what it is and it's almost here and we all are certainly ready for it and anxious to get out in our gardens and start playin' in the dirt...ah sweet earth...bring it on, the sweat, the mosquitoes, the sunburn, the tornado warnings...well we can do without that one, but what glorious cloud formations they exhibit for us stealthy photographers.
I'll be spending my Sunday putting in a fence around my coop, this won't be the covered run fence, just something cute and fancy to give my coop a decorator touch, though the hens will be allowed to scratch in it while I'm cleaning their suite out...my Granny would laugh at all this nonsense...and she probably is, but I won't be large scale, so I can play at whimsy to my hearts content...and my hens will be as spoiled as my dog!!!
I bet you're just working your lil' fanny off, do your students know how lucky they are to have such a dedicated teacher...I'm sure they do. I had an English teacher in 7th grade that I just loved, she was the one that made me easily understand...then my ninth grade Eng. lit. teacher was about 100 years old, but boy could he make you fall in love with Shakespeare...ahhh, those were the days...and I'm sure some of your students will say the same some day...she was my favorite teacher!
Hope you got out this weekend to do some fun stuff, instead of work, work, work...I'm just glad all my work is fun...and a very short commute to boot!
Have a wonderful week dearest Gemma...and a big ol' hug from your sister in the states...even if it's virtual...ha!

I swear we were writing at the same time...you know what they say about great minds...ha...and I wanted to say CONGRATULATIONS...Granny Gemma, them Grand Babes are the best!!!
see ya sis...
Everyone LOVES a parade! I'm glad it was a sunny day with tons of shadows. :)
Nice shot, love the shadows. Looks like you are having some good weather too.
You seem to have lots of parades there. Time to get the boat out and head for the lake ( well, at least it is here). Nice haiku, as usual. Mickie
Your autumn looks much better than our spring! :) Spring? Not yet here in Helsinki...but it's grey and raining - soon all the snow is gone.
Have a good week ahead!
What a charming looking parade! At least the boats need not worry about turbulent waters while cruising the streets! A fun shadw shot Gemma! Have a great week ahead :)
Nice shadows in that shot, but what I'm seeing reminds me of my Dad in the 1940's, (from old pictures I have seen), he and my uncle raced boats and they were small and sharp edged like the one in the photo.
Was this parade before, during or after the boating season? I'm guessing either after or a family event as the man is wearing a shirt and the girl isn't in a bikini.
Nice job Gemma.
Peace.
A beautiful day for a parade - and for some shadows!
That young lady looks like she's having a swell time! Nice SS :)
