Those chairs look as though they would retain heat well--too well on a hot, sunny day. Maybe a little shade would be in order...

SOME SAY THAT SHADOWS

Some say that shadows are fragments of light,
Others that they are but pieces of night,
Fleeing like demons when dawn becomes day,
Fearing the radiance coming their way.
Is one notion wrong and one notion right?
Just what are shadows if they are not light?

The chairs are curvaceous and stylish. Of course, they look as if they are covered with metal - a bit hot on a sunny day. What price style? Great shadows!

Well, the sun finally came out here on the frozen tundra.. I'm confused, I thought it was Spring here, as I drove to work in a blizzard, but that's not unusual up here in the Northland, but it doesn't mean I have to like it...brrr...was it cold this morning, my chicks were all huddled together under their heat lamp. I again pulled out the wool socks and the winter coat and am I glad I did!

I bet you're counting the days of your holiday, wishing they'd never end so you could be by the surf...I love visiting your village and the surrounding areas, it's nice to see how the rest of the world gets on. I'm afraid the gas prices have me and Scratchy only making what trips are necessary. But when it's warm outside, it doesn't matter, I'm content to stay on the porch and listen to the birds and the frogs and diggin' in the dirt of my future crops. It will only be in the 50-60's next week, so we must wait a little longer!

But I have many projects in the making, so no time wasted here, my brain never stops and I think you may have the same affliction, we are just addicted to life and all that it gives us. Though it's giving us a little too much rain and runoff at this time, as rivers are rolling out of their banks...but it's normal, so we wait it out!

Ahhh...to live in the presence of this one special moment in time we've been given is truly a grand feeling, aye...and to share it with a friend, though a gazillion miles apart, it's still golden!!!

Have a wonderful week dear friend...thinkin' of ya sista!!!

Hugs a bunch!

They are really cool chairs. I might be afraid to sit on them on a hot day :-0

Love the chairs and the shadows they cast. Would be nice to get the fish and chips, some tomatoe sauce and sit outside the shop on those chairs and watch the world go by.

Those made great shadows on the wall--and, that haiku adds such a fun "twist" to the whole things. Mickie :)

What a gorgeous weather you have there - excellent for sitting and dining al fresco. On second thought, I would wait out for a few minutes for the chair to cool down before sitting on it. I love the cute illustrations, too. Great shadow shot!

Even your fish & chip shops look charming! I imagine those metal chairs to be a little uncomfortable to sit on in the middle of a summer day. Ouch! Enjoy your week Gemma :)

What a great combination - the bright colours of the mural and the stark shadows behind the chairs! Great shot/ great haiku as well!

The bright sunlight on those metal chairs makes me wonder how hot to the touch they are! Made some very nice shadows, though.
