Earth Day Sky Watch

Pic by Gemma Wiseman ~ It seems ironic that we should be caretakers for Mother Nature, yet there are developments like this one emerging on reclaimed swampland.

I feel exactly the same as JL and you! It is heartbreaking to see the many things that have and are destroying nature's beauty. Beautiful skies for a sad post, however, thank you!

I too!! I don't know how they can reclaimed a swamp when it was put in there for a reason. What about the birds and fish and other habitat that live in the swamp they have a reason why they are there. I am so against this reclaiming "idea" thing. Sooner or later we do feel the harsh reality that Mother nature only knew how.
The houses looks great because it's modern and new but just don't like the idea. ^_^ Now I am ranting hehehe sorry!!!
Happy weekend and happy Easter!!

This is Australia? I mean, doesn't Australia have ACRES of uninhabited land that can be developed? Why was there seen to be a need to reclaim at all? Now the Netherlands I understand... You captured a dramatic sky to make your statement. :-

I think it's OK to reclaim some swampland--not all of it, but some of it--for human habitation. (I'm probably in the minority.)

I WONDER WHY

I wonder why
Some love the sky
But not the wind and rain.

I wonder, friend,
If sky will end—
It’s too much for my brain!

It looks like a sad development, but I guess that every one of us live somewhere that once was a natural area. It is a dilemma.

I hope our "caretaking" skills improve--we don't do a very good job sometimes. Love those clouds and your poem is priceless--great post. Have a wonderful weekend. Mickie :)

A lovely shot... I guess it's the old age battle between poor mother nature and a growing population?

Humans still don't get it, I fear. We have sooo much to learn.
