AUSTRALIA ~ The Antipodes
I love a sunburnt country / A land of sweeping plains / Of ragged mountain ranges / Of droughts and flooding rains / I love her far horizons / I love her jewel-sea / Her beauty and her terror / The wide brown land for me / ~ Dorothea Mackellar (1885-1968)

Dregs

Picture by Willow who hosts Magpie Tales

Peeling echoes
Dregs of past lives
Fractured with knives
Polluted wine

In golden lights
You were my vine
You were my shrine
My sacred crow

It's beautiful and haunting.

When I read this I think...the wine is a reminder of past (now lost) happiness, but perhaps also part of the cure. This had a sweet melancholy feel. Good job. Vb

I loved your response to this image! Yes, memories are golden, but even the best of relationships/situations/times can turn sour. A knife. Wine gone bad...
