Beautiful and angular shadows!
Tread carefully down
steep steps into the garden—
keep alert! wild plants!
Shadowy St. Whoever
Your stairs look very much like ours -- including the shadows! A lovely capture and matching words as always, Gemma! Hope you've had a great weekend so far, may it get ever better!

This is a great pattern that I cannot describe - not herringbone, tweed or twill. It seems instead to be a modernist pattern of angles, actually diagonal. Whatever you call it, it is very artistic and good looking!
I like your rugged steps
weathered wood is beautiful
and the shadows are lovely
Would love to stroll up those old weathered stairs for a visit to a dear old friend...I'm staying home Sunday to play in my new lil' shack(studio)...took many articles up to the open house, so it's in dire need of restoration inside. Sounds like more rain tomorrow, but we really needed it, so I won't complain too loudly! But when you love to create AND you have a roof over your head(FINALLY)let it rain, let it rain, let it rain!!!
It's so nice to have a day that isn't so rushed with stuff to finish and haul off somewhere, well at least that's how I'm gonna call it...play day!
I admire all the hard work you do for your students, dedicated teachers are a Godsend and I'm sure you're one of the best!
Yes, Autumn is quickening in my part of the world, leaves are turning scarlet, squirrels are working like crazy packing away the walnuts for a winter's luncheon, which will be my next crop of seedlings in the Spring...ARGH!!! The lil' devils!!!
Another quilt goes on the bed for the cooler evenings...such is the way of it in the North country...have a wonderful week dearest friend, enjoy the warmer weathers down under!
Hugs a bunch!

Great shadows! Love the design the steps make!
Great shot. The shadows look awesome on the stairs. It looks awfully warm and bright where you are, I wish I could say the same for NZ
Great shot, I love the angle!
Hi gemma, stairs make the best shadows and yours are no exception! Happy Sunday to you :0)
Such swanky patterns those shadows cast upon the stairs! And it was a pleasure to include your photo from last week in one of the collages Gemma :)
Hope you have a great week ahead!
The word verification is 'ricapee' which made me giggle. I'm far too easily amused!
I like the simple yet stunning SSS :)
Wonderful the way your shadows distort the reality of the steps. Great shot Gemma.
Wonderful photo. I looked at the shot and liked it. I scrolled down and read your haiku, then went back and looked deeper and saw the peeling paint/stain, the wear from footsteps. I wondered where the wood came from and the whole process from tree to board to lumber yard to construction. Then the use, how thye grain runs, the weather it has seen in both growing and in tendered use. Amazing. I'm thinking way too much, but this inspired me.
Peace.
they appear to be steps well traveled gemma. a shadow pattern that is very unique. love your spring blossom photo!!!! enjoy your spring!!
Great shadow shot, Gemma. The weathered wood is beautiful, and I do like the haiku with its references to stitching...:)
