AUSTRALIA ~ The Antipodes
I love a sunburnt country / A land of sweeping plains / Of ragged mountain ranges / Of droughts and flooding rains / I love her far horizons / I love her jewel-sea / Her beauty and her terror / The wide brown land for me / ~ Dorothea Mackellar (1885-1968)

I love how you used the sunlight from over your shoulder to catch this shadow with the foreboding storm in the background.
Yes! that moody, stormy sky but enough sunlight for shadows, that's called Hope! Terrific shot and composition, Gemma! And I love your words as always!
Have a great day!
Sylvia
The shadow is foreboding and dark. Except the shadow is set upon the white concrete. So my imagination is at work. The largest part of the shadow looks almost like the bow of a ship. The branches look akin to a stylish spider's web. The shadow is artistic, our imaginations at work...
It does look like the bow of a ship and stormy spring skies conger up all sorts of tall tales.
I'm afraid our Spring storms have long since passed here in Iowa, gentle Fall rains now turn our trees scarlet and burnt orange, as colorful mums are blooming their last grand hurrah to the pumpkin goblins that grace our decks...soon it will be the witching hour and moon glow will light the path to winter...YUCK...I'm not ready for this...but I'll enjoy your shots of people enjoying the beaches down under, while we count the days to spring...again...
Have a beautiful week my dear friend, talk to you soon...(if my computer would quit acting up)
Hugs of warmth from the USofA...s
Very atmospheric! I like the combination of shadows and storm clouds! An unusual mix!
wonderful light in this photo,
Which one is stronger—
storm cloud or shadow? One will
emerge as victor.
Awesome shot!Ilove the contrast between the dark of the storm clouds and shadows and the light of the wall!
neat shadows!
