Pic by Gemma Wiseman ~ We have not had rain on my Mornington Peninsula since early December 2008.
So this morning, these rain laden steps on my verandah in the Dromana Hills were a glorious sight to see.

We watched the scenes at WSB Qualifying yesterday - certainly dry.
i was feeling the same way when our rains started,, but now a good three weeks into it,, i feel alive when we do get a moment of sun to dry the rains away.....
Lovely shot as one can see in between the steps as well. Your veranda seems to be built on stilts :)
Some summers we also suffer from droughts and I remember once when it finally started to rain that I went out and stood on the road outside our summer cottage with my hands in the air letting the wonderful moisture run down my face and how lovely it felt on my skin.
Funny how something so many of us take for granted and can't wait to see leave is sometimes something that other people desperately need and welcome with open arms. May more rain come your way!
Glad you got the much needed rain. We have had similar weather here in North Carolina today, and we needed the moisture as well. The bad news is that it's supposed to turn to snow tonight...which we don't need.
You stairs look very much like MY stairs in the rain. It's clear here today but we've got rain predicted again for Monday, Wednesday, and Friday of next week.
Hugs and blessings,
