Haunting old sculpture
Perhaps wrought once in gesso
Now weathered by time

Pocked peeling colours
Woozy cracks like white lightning
But the eyes live on

Beautiful sculpture.
I am so drawn to the awesome beauty this artist bestows on his beloved Aboriginal peoples. As we honor our Native Americans, there is still a biggoted fraction of society that can't accept color. The problems our new president will face due to race are miniscule compared to issues a white man(men) has brought upon the world and it's peoples of color all through time...and who are the savages???
I hope change is on the horizon...'woozey cracks like white lightning'...I see as hope for the future. Love it!
Have a wonderful weekend friend.

I am recently developing more interest in sculpting as I see the different kinds of work on blogs from the around the world. These are great.
Hello Gemma. I have been trying all day to comment on your poems. My server kept disconnecting me when I would click on your Post A Comment link, for some reason. Anyway, I finally got through.
This sculpture is beautiful. It definitely has a different feel from one view to the next. I simply love the line woozy cracks like white lightning. William Ricketts is certainly a great sculpter. He captured every detail perfectly. Have a nice night.
Thank you for visiting my Photo Hunt post earlier this week.
The sculpture in your picture is beautiful and you captured it beautifully too!
