I have never noticed the meme of strange mailboxes, but seeing this one makes me feel that there might be s need for one.
Only, around here they are strictly regulated in size, shape and colour :-(

A nice combination of the two themes. I'd not seen the Monday mailboxes--except here and it did not "click" with me. Maybe my mailbox with the bullet holes from when the previous owner took a potshot at her ex might fit. There was one near us with a standard mailbox, but on a pole extended some twenty feet above it is another marked "Air Mail".

Letters are delivered in Australia to mailboxes but packages and parcels need to be picked up at the post office in the metroplotian areas. A card is delivered to the mailbox to let you know it is there!
