NOTE: This is quite an important sign in Australia.
We have water restrictions now almost all year round.
This sign on a mailbox indicates that the owner does not draw on a metropolitan water supply (town water) but uses their own rainwater usually collected from the house roof.
The rainwater is usually stored in a water tank at the side or back of the house.
It is important to say this if gardens are being watered regularly.
People who water gardens for long periods of time using town water are liable for heavy fines.
This sign indicates the owner is a responsible water user!
