3WW Prompt #LXXXIV ~ empty highway ignored
~
I want to treasure
This precious moment with you
So much to tell you
So litttle time till cold beasts
Bulldoze our slice of heaven
~
So much to tell you ~
Remember those chilled mornings
When I stood alone ~
You thought I was lost in sleep
But I was holding our world
~
I needed our dawns
Misted with scents of dewed hay ~
I needed our scenes
Swirling with brisk morning runs
Or just dreaming by fence lines
~
I needed middays
Ambling for leafy shadows
And soft afternoons
Till a brazen, cold highway
Our slice of heaven ignored
~
Sunsets trouble me ~
They close our daylight
Heralding darkness ~
Too soon the waves of night-time
Will invade the shores of day
~
But let us not dwell
On questions and future fears
Flamed with empty hope ~
Let's wander to my old tree
And hold our world together
~

Beautiful and contemplative.
Nicely done.
This was so nicely written. Very beautiful.
kind of sad to know they are losing their home but it could be from anyone's perspective, even a human, the last two stanza's my favorite
lovely composition! :)

as you promised... your horse poem.. and it was lovely... so sad,, all this construction taking over the world....
such a lovely poem
This had many beautiful layers and a touch of sadness. I used to write Tankas and enjoyed the form.
Really good!
Beautifully done! Layered and wise. I'm afraid they're losing their homes, too!
