AUSTRALIA ~ The Antipodes

AUSTRALIA ~ The Antipodes
I love a sunburnt country / A land of sweeping plains / Of ragged mountain ranges / Of droughts and flooding rains / I love her far horizons / I love her jewel-sea / Her beauty and her terror / The wide brown land for me / ~ Dorothea Mackellar (1885-1968)

We have finished with those wet rainy days and squelching shoes!!
This really is a gift, as our agriculture depends on Monsoon!! May it be an obsession with nature to pour those timely rains!!

Rain is so valuable here on the desert part of the Canadian prairie, but sometimes we get more than the ground can absorb, and we get floods. Nothing so awful as what Australia got, however.

This is really, in my opinion, an great autumn haiku. Rain, rain, rain, I love the rain in autumn. It awakes the nice scent of Mother Earth.

Namaste.

I know that feeling of being tired of the rain, almost as soon as it begins. Yet the growth that comes from these rains brings such cheer. Personification works nicely here.
