Nature's Jottings


Pic by Gemma Wiseman ~ On my morning Autumn walk round Bittern, I found many interesting bark textures.
I loved this one for its patterns and how the fine grass shapes seemed to sweep out waving a magic wand!

Beautiful contrast. I've been struck recently by how digital cameras help us to see the real beauty of nature. In "ancient" times (when we had to pay to have pictures developed)I wouldn't have thought about taking a picture like this -- but how lovely that bark is contrasted with the grasses -- really as beautiful as the "big" scenic things we (only) took pictures of back in the old days.

A funny thing, I also took a photo yesterday of the chestnuttree's bark!
