Good haiku! I can relate -- I broke my wrist a couple of years ago -- showering was quite the challenge. :)
I did use a letter opener to scratch under the cast.
Here's hoping you heal fast and well!

In childhood, me and my pals used to think that autographing the cast helps heal the injury faster! I wish I could come by and sign yours, Gemma! But I wish you a speedy recovery and loads of writing to come after :D

I recently had both my writs/thumbs rebuilt to overcome damage by arthritis. I was in casts/splints with each one for 8 to 10 weeks. I learned to do lots of things in a creative manner!

Oh, No!!!!! This is awful. I know you are miserable. I broke my ankle years ago and I remember the inconvenience vividly. Hope you can still work your camera without too much pain. Will be thinking of you. This will end...I promise you :-)
Take care of yourself, and allow "Dr. Time" to work. Nice poem!
Wonderful piece the image is precious. When I am sick my 3 year old always tries to comfort me it reminds me of that warmth.
