Never heard about a SWIMMING carnival before. There's always a first time..
I have tried to swim with clothes on, heavy affair.
The colors were red and sparkling.

The idea of swimming in such non-swimwear makes me think of sinking instead. The ruby gear for favored teams adds a sense of excitement (and color :) the the splash of excitement below the surface...
Love the red pom poms, red hat and red ribbons. Red fun!
