Pic by Gemma Wiseman ~ A new sprawling home is being built at a Red Hill property.
Leaning on the fenceline is this.
Somehow, I felt a kind of hollow sadness when I saw the play of early morning sunlight and shadow on this broken wall and window.

It seems as if this once proud piece of a home is now forlorn. The shame is that this wall might have liked to be reclaimed and part of the new home - alas...
Life continues though as the weathered wood and broken glass will be recycled anew, for another home to be...
what a find! i am smitten by this wall w/window. it's beautiful. i'd like to snatch it up for myself!
This is a great shot! I often think of what took place to make a place uninhabited. Your shot has the home torn apart and dismantled. Then, I think that you are half way around the world from where I live and see things are quite similar. We are all related after all.
Peace.
It is a bit sad, isn't it? But it makes a great shot, partly because it stirs the emotions.
I find it sad as well, but it does make a wonderful shadow shot! Perfect words as always! Hope your weekend is going well, Gemma! Enjoy!

As lovely as the photo is, it is very sad. Perhaps the old wall will be reclaimed and used for other purposes so it will continue to live on in another form. I hope! I hope you've been enjoying your weekend Gemma :)
Nice shot, perhaps it will get to take on another form like Tracy said. Love the shadows.
Hopefully that wall witnessed good lives of humans...
it's a pretty washed out color
I hope some part of it is used
lovely thoughtful post
perhaps the wals would be re-used as a fence or garden addition...nice haiku!
It does appear a bit forlorn, but what a lovely shade of green!
Even though it is worn by time, it still looks useful. It is a bit sad. It is so pretty.
