Pic by Gemma Wiseman ~ As soon as I saw this week's prompt, I thought of this book that I have loved for just over 30 years.
In 1920, the first of these letters was created when Tolkien's eldest son was 3 years old.
They continued for over 20 years.
Santa's secretary was an elf called Ilbereth.
And there's a goblin alphabet created by Santa's troublesome assistant North Polar Bear!

What a wonderful choice for the theme. I can't believe I haven't heard of this before. I'll have to try and find it.
I just realized that I still have my niece's letters to Santa in my briefcase. She used to send them to Santa, care of me. Apparently, I knew Santa.... So I would reply as Santa.
My niece is now 18. I have to remember to give them back to her!
