AUSTRALIA ~ The Antipodes

AUSTRALIA ~ The Antipodes
I love a sunburnt country / A land of sweeping plains / Of ragged mountain ranges / Of droughts and flooding rains / I love her far horizons / I love her jewel-sea / Her beauty and her terror / The wide brown land for me / ~ Dorothea Mackellar (1885-1968)

Joy Has Sprung!

Pic by Gemma Wiseman ~ When the tides are low at Rosebud beach, Mornington Peninsula on Port Phillip Bay, sandbars appear like little islands in the water.

SOOC Sunday #72
Haiku Bones #15 ~ Illogical
Carry on Tuesday #45 ~ This week our prompt is the opening of the poem The Poet and his Song by Paul Laurence Dunbar:
A song is but a little thing,
And yet what joy it is to sing!

~

Private slim sandbar
Who knows why they are out there
Illogical joy
~
Outside perceptions
A song is such a small thing
Quizzical purpose
~
Inner persuasions
A song is a raging tide
Craving an outlet

This reminds me of vacations we took at Myrtle beach with family and friends. Seems like one of the girls always had their feet in the air. Thatnks for bringing good memories to the front today.

I really like these Gemma, especially the first for its unabashed joy, and the third resonates strong with me -- that is so my perspective on a song...

"A song is a raging tide, craving an outlet"...very true!

We enjoy songs because they give us some feelings that would help us let out some sighs....

LOvely haikus in all!
