Pic by Gemma Wiseman ~ Cockatoo feasting on seeds in a Dromana street, Mornington Peninsula
NOTES: A few visitors have wondered if this bird is really in the wild! YES IT IS! Where I live, cockatoos are quite a common, daily sight flying around tree-lined streets and flying over my mountain. Some people have bird feeders for them near their driveways. But not everyone likes cockatoos! They look handsome, but their screech is ear-piercing! Some people refer to a flock of cockatoos as "the screech squad"!

Lovely picture, thanks for stopping by my blog this morning :)
That really does look wild to me, speaking from Europe!
Thanks for visiting mine :)
Nice shot on Cockatoo...can it finish it all :)
Nice picture for wild. have a good weekend
Reminds me of the flocks of cockatoos that hung out in the park in Sydney when we were there about 20 years ago. Nice shot!
Thanks for stopping by!
Lovely words to go with the 'wild' photo... Good one :)
What a pretty bird!

That's a wonderful shot of the birds feasting on the wild seeds. Happy weekend.
I really like how you composed that shot. Yay!
Great shot and haikus too!
Beautiful wild bird!!! Happy photo hunting :)
Wonderful photo and wonderful haiku. Your creativity is through the roof. Thank you so much for sharing!
Great take on the theme of wild! :)
Great photo! One of my 4-year-old's favorite animals is the cockatoo, he would be in awe.
Thanks for stopping by my photo!
Great shot. WOW! Is it Sunday there already?
very cool theme! what a beautiful bird!
Cool photo. It's amazing to think of how different the wildlife is for different parts of the world. That bird would be 'exotic' here, but of course some birds we have would likely be strange and exotic to your locale.
Good choice for the theme.

That's a great photo. Beautiful bird.
How cool that cockatoo's fly about in your part of the world. Now that's a wild concept to me :0)
Ah … this is lovely the way you’ve blended OSI and Photo Hunt with your haiku … beautifully creative ‘take’ on both themes. I enjoy multi-tasking too ;--)
Hugs and blessings,
Beautiful, delicate photo. I love it.
Love this photo of the bird so free. Very nice and I like the poem, too. Sincerely, Connie
This was taken in the wild? VERY cool if so! :)
Gorgeous bird!
Thanks for visiting my hunt. Happy weekend!
lovely poem, and photo.
Life and death really are perceptions. This is a lovely piece. The enigmatic photo reinforce the real-or-illusion question very nicely.
Ahhh.. something that isn't cats for this time around.
Well, good to know about the parrot... :P
I would never have thought of applying the word metamorphosis to seeds; but you are so right. Your words and images are wonderful. A creative 'wild' response.

Great shot! It is hard to believe that fall is coming around the bend here and you are getting reayd to enjoy spring down there.
A great response to seeds!
I really enjoyed your perspective on the ways of looking at seeds. And the bird is very cool - reminds me of the time I went to Florida and saw dozens of feral budgies lining the telephone wires. They seemed out of place somehow (but very amusing!. there are several place in the US that have established populations of escaped pet birds.
that's a cool shot of a parrot feeding.
What an excellent pairing of two prompts. Cool shot of the cockatoo (that's what they are called here in the US, I think). Love the "scream squad." Rather like the crows he have meetings in the tree in my front yard. They have very heated discussions. I sometimes wonder what they are talking about. Politics, maybe.
What a great melding of two prompts, Gemma! I love the haiku, especially 'Life and death are perceptions'!
The haiku are wonderful. I particularly liked the line, "life and death are perceptions". This is so true of seeds-- what seems dead contains new life.
the hazy photo reinforces the blur between life and death. Very nice.
I love this. Wonderful look at wild. Thanks for stopping by mine and have a great week!
This is the third post I've run across referencing seeds and life and not limiting seed to vegetation. I love this broad and encompassing definition of seed and you present it here so well.
Imagine seeing and hearing them every day.
I agree with Annie about your work. Very nice.
Gorgeous! I love that he's out in the wild.
Thanks for visiting my photo hunt!
Fascinating photo, excellent words for bird in the wild!
