A bouquet of islands! It all reminds of the year we spent in Melbourne 1966-1967.

Beautiful curving inlets on an expansive shoreline.

I hadn't thought of islands in the road, but the proof is there!

I live in an area that they call 'the island', which is by no means an island, but back in history before the levees were built, the great Mississippi River yearly over-flowed her banks, creating islands everywhere, so our ground is sand. Fertile land for producing crops. We are famous for our Muscatine watermelons and cantelope.

But the mighty Mississippi has a beauty all her own, even when flooded and winds whip up white-caps, very ocean like. But it is the natural way of things...we have just altered her course.

Beautiful shots, per usual my fave is the rolling sea.

Australia is the largest island in the world! You are absolutely right! It's as large as Europe and has a little bit more inhabitants than The Netherlands, which is half the size of Tasmania. We have 17 million inhabitants. It's a most interesting island with a most interesting population. Thanks for your guided tour along islands.

All nice photos for "I" and here I thought "Internet" and my "Insect" were original and cleverly thought up. I am impressed.

I didn't realize how far behind in commenting I was, I need to keep up :) One of these days I will make it to Australia, I really can't wait to see it in person.
