Rubies in the Mists

Pic by Gemma Wiseman ~ School basketball/netball court on a very foggy morning
I am still on a quest for finding some ruby red in unusual places. Imagine my surprise when I go to work, and, there looming out of the mist is "a ruby"!

Ruby Tuesday prompt
~

A fog-bound morning
Shapes sidling, looming in mists
Soulful grey canvas
~
I was offered blindness
But determined to see
I was offered silence
But determined to speak
~
Confusing lighting
Waiting for real substance
Like a paintbrush poised
~
I walked in silence
But determined to speak
I was blinded
But determined to see

Aren't we always wondering what will come out of the mist, but the red really is like a stop light, forcing your attention to it alone.

That is such a unique capture. Not sure I've ever noticed a red backboard, but I will watch for one now!

Very unique photos. I really like the dream quality that the mist gives the whole composition. Nice work.

Have a wonderful Ruby Tuesday.

Well, you CAN see them in the fog. So there goes my excuse for not getting the ball through the hoop. ;-)

At least it was only a basketball hoop, and not some odd scary fella or something. :)

I love foggy mornings, how they soften the world and let colors peek out

Your poetry is so lovely and your photography is amazing.

Great 'ruby' find.

hello, Gemma! I am wondering if they made it red on purpose. Perhaps they play hoops in the fog very often, so they made it red by necessity?

The day will not begin for that basketball hoop until some players bang a ball against the backstop....nicely finished in ruby red!

I bet all the players are hiding in doors cuddling up with a nice cup of hot chocolate in that weather :)
Happy Ruby Tuesday to you!!
