THE MEANING OF WINTER

Winter is the shadow, the etching of the seasons in the mist.

Light Support

Pic by Gemma Wiseman ~ Structure next to Flinders Yacht Club, Mornington Peninsula. The tiny hub of its watchtower activity is supported by stilts. But the red and green lights, in particular, give support to yachts launching and entering the shallow waters close to shore. Yes, it is a little like support given by lighthouses. But rather than warning of hazards, keeping boats away from dangers near shores, this "lighthouse" guides boats into the shoreline. (The landing area is in the same vicinity as the launching area.) Traffic lights for boats!

PhotoHunt prompt #119: What IS that?
~

I am there
When your landscape is misty
I am there
When your sails are old
I am there
When you feel lost
I am there
When your spirit is
Cold

As if a traffic light to invite the watercraft in. A lighthouse means stay away. I never thought of that...

Too bad we need traffic lights on the ocean. The scale of human activity has shadowed every beauty we've known to love.

This is a very interesting post. I like that you helped explain it all.

My photo hunt this week is a sequence of photos as I open a purchase I made at Michael's Crafts shop. Can you guess what they are before I reveal them?

Come by if you can find time!! Have a super weekend.

Tarot Card Identity

You are The Empress Beauty, happiness, pleasure, success, luxury, dissipation. The Empress is associated with Venus, the feminine planet, so it represents, beauty, charm, pleasure, luxury, and delight. You may be good at home decorating, art or anything to do with making things beautiful. The Empress is a creator, be it creation of life, of romance, of art or business. While the Magician is the primal spark, the idea made real, and the High Priestess is the one who gives the idea a form, the Empress is the womb where it gestates and grows till it is ready to be born. This is why her symbol is Venus, goddess of beautiful things as well as love. Even so, the Empress is more Demeter, goddess of abundance, then sensual Venus. She is the giver of Earthly gifts, yet at the same time, she can, in anger withhold, as Demeter did when her daughter, Persephone, was kidnapped. In fury and grief, she kept the Earth barren till her child was returned to her.
