ABC Wednesday ~ Round 3 prompt ~ B is for "bent"
~
Around the coastline of Mornington Peninsula on Port Phillip Bay, Victoria, Australia there are many strangely shaped tree forms. Sea winds have a rather unique sense of artistry specially reserved for slimly trunked trees.
~
Bend a little
Sway a little
Turn the bark
Over
Sail a little
Sigh a little
Turn the leaves
Over and
Over and
Over

And the coastline round Port Phillip Bay is certainly "bent". Waters crumble gently onto beaches tucked into many nooks and crannies.
~
Beach a little
Waves a little
Turn the waters
Over

Finally, to enjoy the delightful artistry of bent trees on an entrancing, bent coastline, there is the ultimate "bent" walkway to amble and dream by the sea.
~
Walk a little
Wind a little
Turn reality
Over and
Over and
Over

I miss those misty mornings on the beaches in Florida, even in the winter. The sea grass and trees foreign to my Midwestern eyes may as well have been on the Dromana shores...such quiet beauty, undisturbed by summer crowds.

It really looks beautiful and love your poetry to go with everything..
That first tree is really bent..Beautiful..
I love this series. The photos, yes, but mostly the words. I like the way they echo and mimic one another, just like the wind and waves. Very well done.
Wild weather creates some wild shapes at times. Love your poetry too...goes so well with your pictures.
Love the theme of "bent" for this week's letter. Very original.
Gosh, you did a great job on showing us "bent"... the tree is really bent, isn't it. Well done.

How clever of you to choose an adjective instead of a noun for your "B"! The trees and poems illustrate it beautifully. I am commenting on your blog rather than on ABC because of the more extensive illustrations of "bent".
living on the pacific coast,, we too have a lot of trees that have been carved out over time by the ferocious ocean winds... this was a delight....
It's beautiful how that tree is bend almost over to the ground :) Great capture and it sure looks COLD!!! Bbrrrrr...
Gemma,
I love the playful use of words you did to compliments the wonders of nature captured in this collection of photographs.
There are great manicured, man-made gardens in the world, but I still prefer the gardens molded by time, shaped by the winds, watered by the rains, warmed/lighted blooming under the sun.
I wish you well.

beautiful!
you must have some tremendous winds to bend the trees like that - and I do love how you interweave the photos and the poetry - well done.
"Bent" is a male name in Scandinavia. Now I know where it comes from!
Amazing how those trees get bent by the wind and elements... I grew up on the Monterey Peninsula where the cypress trees do the same thing...
I've seen a few bent trees before but nothing quite like the one in your first photo! Beautiful post...photos, poetry...everything! I'm in love with that second photo in particular! Wow! I'm wondering if you've ever dabbled in filmmaking? Your still shots carry so much beauty & emotion, & as moving images projected onto a big screen they'd be even more breathtaking!
Hi Gemma,
I'm gemma too from Az.
I happen to love trees.
Your photographs are very nice.
Wow! Feel the force! (As Luke Skywalker was told!) LOL!
I love the visuals that your wind words conjure up in my mind. All beautiful; wind, words and tree photos.
I always like lateral thinking, espaiclayy with such atmospheric images.
Great series of "B" photos and poems and writings.
Well done.
