Somehow, I would never had connected Melbourne with horse-drawn carriages. Don't know why, after they have them in NYC.

Horsedrawn carriage rides are so romantic. They look beautiful in their head feathers.

They have them in NY too (and one or two in Tel Aviv recently as well) but they're not nearly as elegantly decked out, no feathers on the head :).
I love seeing the horse drawn carriages in the cities. But, they are a fading attraction because of all the work involved. I had two sisters that once did this kind of work and they had to haul the horses into and from the tourist area each day because they could not get a permit to house them in the city.
